PM left for Bhutan on three-day state visit


MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for Thimphu this morning on a three-day state visit to Bhutan. The prime minister will attend a three-day ‘International Conference on Autism and Nuero Developmental Disorders’, beginning tomorrow at the Royal Banquet Hall in the Bhutanese capital. A Druk Air VVIP flight carrying the prime minister and her entourage took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Thimphu at 10:50am. PM returns home from India after four-day visit


MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home this evening after a fruitful four-day visit to India on an invitation by her counterpart Narendra Modi. A Biman Bangladesh Airlines VVIP flight carried the premier back home along with her entourage members landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 6:50m. Death penalty for disrupting civil aviation

MNA Editorial Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved a draft law imposing death penalty and a fine of Tk 50 million for disrupting civil aviation. Cabinet has approved the ‘Civil Aviation Movement Act 2017’ at a cabinet meeting on Monday. The draft is also an updated form of the 1960’s ‘The Civil Aviation Ordinance’, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters after the meeting. Messaging app ‘Alapon’ for public servants

MNA Technology Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday launched a secure communications messaging app ‘Alapon’ for the public servants which will facilitate messaging and folder sharing. The mobile app is developed by the government’s ICT Division. The prime minister launched it before the weekly Cabinet meeting. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters that through this app the government officials will be able to converse with each other, much like Viber.
