Tigers rock Australia with 3 late wickets

MNA Sports Desk: Bangladesh bowlers too came back strongly to reduce Australia to 18 for 3 late wickets in reply on the first day of first Test at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Sunday.

Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan both hit fifties, but the rest of the team were subdued by a controlled Australian bowling as Bangladesh were bundled out for 260.

Winning the toss, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim opted to bat first, but Pat Cummins ripped through the Bangladesh top order inside the day’s first four overs.

Bangladesh: 1st innings – 260 for all 78.5 overs, Shakib 84, Tamim 71, Nasir 23, Miraz 18 Mushfiqur 18, Ashton Agar 3/46, Patrick Cummins 3/63 ,Nathan Lyon, 3/79 and Gleen Maxwell 1/15.

Australia: 1st Innings- 18 for 3 in 9overs. Warner 8, Renshaw 6, U Khwaja 1. Miraz 1/7, Shakib 1/3.
