3 bodies found in C’nawabganj drive

MNA National Desk: RAB has found three bodies following a shootout and explosions during a raid on a suspected JMB militant hideout on a small river island in Chapainawabganj.

A fire broke out at the tin-and-bamboo structure on Tuesday morning after a firefight and explosions, said Rajshahi RAB-5 Commanding Officer Lt Col Mahabub Alam.

Two pistols, three grenades, eight detonates and various bomb-making materials were recovered from inside, RAB Media Wing Director Commander Mufti Mahmud Khan said at a briefing on the scene.

When the RAB members asked the militants to surrender, they opened fire and threw grenade to the elite forces which prompted them to retaliate back.

Meanwhile, the elite force detained house owner Rashikul, his wife Nazma and father-in-law Khorshed Alam from Sabdipur area in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district for interrogation.
