MNA National Desk: A Bangladesh Biman flight made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka Tuesday afternoon.
The Dash-8 airliner took off for Syedpur around 12 noon but had to make the emergency landing 15 minutes later due to technical glitches, a number of sources at the airport said.
Biman officials have not confirmed what specific technical issue affected the Dash 8-Q400 aircraft, which can carry 73 passengers.
The US-Bangla Airlines flight that crashed in Kathmandu on Mar 12 was also a Dash8-Q400 plane, manufactured by Canada-based Bombardier Inc.
The crash at the Tribhuvan International Airport is the worst aviation disaster in Bangladesh’s history killing 49 of the 71 people on board, including 26 Bangladeshis.
