MNA National Desk: A rally and human chain was arranged by the Central Committee of ‘Bangladesh Shadhinota Parishad’ today (December 4, 2017) in front of Dhaka Press Club protesting the lies and conspiracy of anti-liberation war BNP-Jamaat alliance. Their protest was against the speeches of BNP leaders criticizing the ruling party’s success in development of Bangladesh.
Along with the leaders of Bangladesh Shadhinota Parishad, Dr. Hasan Mahmud Chowdhury, Publicity and Publications Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, was present in the rally.
According to the protestors, Begum Khaleda Zia, Chairperson of BNP is doing conspiracy to create barriers to Bangladesh’s development. Dr. Hasan Mamud Chowdhury said, “While Bangladesh is moving fast on the roads of development, many has appreciated us. Noble prize winner Amratya Sen said, he is astonished with fast development of Bangladesh. World Bank President and Kaushik Basu-an famed Indian Economist both praised on Bangladesh’s achievements. Even U.S. President Barack Obama, while visiting his roots in Kenya, mentioned Bangladesh and asked them to learn from us. While the Bangladeshi journalists asked for suggestions for improvement, India’s Central Bank Governor told that, he is not here to advise rather he is here to learn. While Bangladesh is improving so much, BNP leader Ruhul Kabir Rizvi is criticizing the government’s role”.
“Our General Secretary, Obaidul Quader has said to Khaleda Zia, if she cannot prove corruption in Padma Bridge, there would be case against her. BNP replied in a press conference saying that, it is a conspiracy of Awami League,” he added.
He also informed that, World Bank recently accepted their mistake in the Padma Bridge Corruption issue and showed interest to invest in that project again while PM has rejected that idea as we are building that bridge by ourselves but given them an option to invest that fund in the future development projects.
In this scenario, Dr. Hasan expressed his wonder on Khaleda Zia or Ruhul Kabir Rizvi’s negative comments. He said, “Cases should be filed against whoever negatively comments on the Padma Bridge Corruption. These liars should be brought under justice”. “BNP has even criticized the free book distribution initiative of the government. They are constantly criticizing and making negative comment on several development projects of the government”, he further added.
He said, “We want to progress with everyone’s advice and support. We want to grow with everyone. But wrong criticism will be punished.”
Dr. Hasan Mahmud Chowdhury sarcastically said that Begum Khaleda Zia has become an actress of the horror movies.
Other leaders from different associate cultural associations of Awami League also spoke in the rally and demanded punishment of BNP-Jamaat for conspiring against Bangladesh and the current government and for spreading wrong information.
