Jagannath University launched National River Olympiad

(JnU Correspondent) MNA National Desk: With the slogan ‘Janbe Jodi, JagbeNodi’, Jagannath University (JnU) launched National River Olympiad-2016 for the first time on Thursday.

Riverine People and Samakal Shurid Samabesh jointly organized the Olympiad held at the central auditorium of the university at 9:30am.

Noted research scholar, essayist, and writer Syed Abul Maksud inaugurated the Olympiad through releasing a bunch of balloons while the event started with the national anthem.

JnU Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Mijanur Rahman spoke as Chief Guest at the discussion with Samakal Shurid Samabesh Adviser Prof. Dr. Milton Biswas in the chair.

Samakal’s Executive Editor Mustafiz Shafi was, among others, present as Special Guest. About 150 students from different universities and colleges took part in the event. The Olympiad will also be held in the eight divisional cities of the country.
