MNA National Desk: Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque passed away at a city hospital on Saturday morning. He was 75.
Sayedul, also a Liberation War organiser and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s political aide, breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) around 8:30am, said Public Relations Officer of the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Shah Alam Badshah.
The minister had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since September 17 for old-age complications. He was put on life support on December 13.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the South Plaza of Jatiya Sangsad at 9am on Sunday. Later, his body will be taken to his constituency in Nasirnagar by a helicopter where his 2nd janaza will be held at Ashutosh Pilot High School ground at 11am.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at Purbobhagh village of the upazila following another janaza after Zohr prayers, said Badshah.
President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury expressed their deep shock at the death of the minister.
