Messaging app ‘Alapon’ for public servants

MNA Technology Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday launched a secure communications messaging app ‘Alapon’ for the public servants which will facilitate messaging and folder sharing.

The mobile app is developed by the government’s ICT Division. The prime minister launched it before the weekly Cabinet meeting.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told reporters that through this app the government officials will be able to converse with each other, much like Viber. The Prime Minister immediately spoke with Barisal’s deputy commissioner through the app.

Earlier on 2 August, authorities of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) launched a mobile application ‘Nogor’ with a view to ensuring quality service and enhancing security to the dwellers within short time. Urban Lab of Bangladesh University prepared the application under the guidance of DNCC.
