Mustafa Jabbar will lead new BASIS executives

Mustafa JabbarMNA Technology Desk: IT entrepreneur Mustafa Jabbar will lead new BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) executives for IT and software over the next three years.

BASIS said on Monday that Jabbar had been elected President of the body for the 2016-19 term at elections held on Saturday.

Russell T Ahmed of Team Creative was elected Senior Vice President, while M Rashidul Hasan of Systech Digital Limited and Farhana A Rahman of UY Systems Limited became Vice Presidents.

Jabbar is best known for being the creator of software Bijoy. He published the Bijoy Bengali Keyboard, the first Bengali keyboard in 1988, which was most widely used Bengali input method around the world until the release of Unicode based Avro Keyboard.

He is the only patent holder of any ICT related product (Bijoy Keyboard) till now. He has written the first book on this subject and is responsible for organizing a movement on Digital Bangladesh.

He is leading the ICT industry as the President of Bangladesh Computer Samity, the national ICT organization of Bangladesh.
