PM asks to probe torching paddy field by farmers

MNA National Desk: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the ministry concerned to investigate some incidents over setting fire to paddy fields by farmers to protest the price fall.

“Investigation will be held to know if the incidents were the acts of sabotage or a bid to tarnish the image of the government,” said
Road transport and bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday at his Secretariat office.

Obaidul Quader, also the General Secretary of Awami League, said that problem would not be solved through torching paddy field.

Recently, a number of news reports on setting fire to paddy fileds by farmers to protest the price fall of paddy created sensassion.
