MNA Career & Education Desk: Prof Kazi Shahidullah, the supernumerary professor of the History Dept at Dhaka University, has been made the new chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a four-year term.
Department of Secondary and Higher Education of the Education Ministry issued an order in this regard on Wednesday.
Kazi Shahidullah is the former vice chancellor of National University.
Prof Shahidullah replaces Prof Abdul Mannan, whose term was ended on May 7.
Since then, the UGC senior member Prof Mohammed Yusuf Ali Mollah had been serving as the chairman.
