MNA National Desk: A high-level review panel has recommended the removal of quotas for government employees from grade 9 to grade 13, reported news agency.
The committee, which was formed by the government to review the existing quota system, submitted its report on Monday.
Cabinet Secretary Md Shafiul Alam handed the report to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the cabinet meeting.
Currently, about 56% of government jobs are reserved for candidates from various quotas.
The government formed the seven-member committee, convened by Cabinet Secretary Shafiul Alam, on July 2.
In April, public and private university students from across the country waged a movement demanding reforms to the quota system.
