Shafiqul Islam becomes DMP commissioner

MNA National Desk: The government has appointed Additional Inspector General of Police Shafiqul Islam as the new commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

The home ministry gave the information in a statement on Wednesday, reports media.

Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been appointed as the new chief of the Criminal Investigation Department.

On May 16 this year, Shafiqul was appointed as the chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
