Siddikur finalizes 2nd place in Bashundhara Bangladesh Open

MNA Sports Desk: Siddikur Rahman finished second in the 3rd edition of $300,000 Bashundhara Bangladesh Open which concluded at Kurmitola Golf Club on Saturday.

Thai young talent Jazz Janewattananond clinched the title maintaining prime position in all- through the tournament.

To bag his maiden Asian Tour title, the 21-year-old Jazz tallied overall 17-under-par 267 while two-time Asian Tour winner Siddikur moved up to the 2nd from joint 3rd collecting 13-under-par 271, stayed four shots behind than the champion.

Jazz started the day with previous collection of 13-under-par 200 while Siddikur eight-under-par 205.

Jazz carded four-under-par 67 in the 4th and final round, traded four-birdies, while Siddikur carded five-under-par 66, traded six birdies and one bogey on Saturday.

However, in the first two editions of this Asian Tour event, the Tiger Woods of Bengal, Siddikur finished 38th and 35th respectively.

Siddikur, who just returned home on Monday night after taking part in Singapore Open and Myanmar Open, told media at in the official press conference at Kurmitola that this time he is in good shape.

“I could not get my expected result last time because I was down with an injury. This time I hope to do well,” he had said.
