MNA National Desk: The 36 wards formed recently by the government in Dhaka have been added to Dhaka’s two city corporations. Dhaka expands by more than double after inclusion of 16 union councils. The Local Government Division issued a gazette on July 26 after city corporation officials recommended their formation for holding councillor election. Dhaka North now has 54 wards, after the addition of 18 new-ward. Dhaka South wards have risen from 57 to 75. The number of wards inside the two Dhaka City Corporations stands at 129.
