Poet Shahid Qadri died in New York

MNA Culture & Entertainment Desk: Shahid Qadri, the leading contemporary Bengali poet, has died in New York at the age of 74. The body of reputed Bangladeshi poet is expected to arrive in Dhaka early Wednesday. The poet breathed his last in North Shore University Hospital at 7am (local time) on Sunday, his wife Neera Qadri confirmed news agency. He was hospitalized with high blood pressure and fever a week ago. For his poetry, he was awarded Bangla Academy Award in 1973.
