MNA National Desk: Dhaka University students today started protests against the illogical demand of the affiliate institute of Home Economics students.
Dhaka University students went on a sit-in near the vice-chancellor’s residence this morning in protest. The students said the protests at the New Market thoroughfare are causing public sufferings.
Around 500 students also held a human chain to protest inside their campus, several hundred yards away from the Home Economics students’ demonstration.
Meanwhile, traders of Gausia and Dhanmondi Hawkers’ Market have taken out a procession and demonstrated against the Home Economics students.
The students have blocked the New Market intersection for a fourth day and continued to demonstrate for the recognition of their college as an Institute of Dhaka University.
