Kamrun Nahar joined as first ever woman PIO

MNA National Desk: Begum Kamrun Nahar joined as first ever woman Principal Information Officer (PIO) at Press Information Department (PID) on Sunday.

She is succeeded Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, an official handout said, reports news agency.

A farewell reception was given to Hossain at PID while Nahar was conferred reception for joining as new head of the department.

Nahar, an officer of BCS 1984 regular batch, served as Director General (DG) of Directorate of Mass Communication.

She also served as DG of Department of Films and Publications and Bangladesh Film Archive and vice-chairman of Bangladesh Film Censor Board in her 31-year career.
