KHT qualify for the playoffs as it wins against DD

KHTMNA Sports Desk: The KHT (Khulna Titans) have registered their place in the playoff round of the AKS BPL T20 2016 defeating the Dhaka Dynamites. Set a target of 159, the Titans steered past the finish line with 12 balls to spare.

KHT captain Mahmudullah knock of 50 and Hasanuzzaman’s quick-fire 40 made them able to pick a six-wicket victory at Mirpur stadium on Sunday.

With this win, Khulna collected 14 points with seven win and five loses, meaning that Rangpur Riders eliminated from the race placing them in the 5th.

Dhaka maintained the top slot with 16 points from 12 outing, having eight wins and four loses.

Chittagong Vikings are staying in the race placing 3rd, by virtue of better run rate, collecting 12 points with six wins and six loses while Rajshahi Kings placed the 4th, also secured 12 points having equal win loss record.

Earlier in the evening, the Dynamites had a brisk start as their opening pair Sangakkara and Mehedi Maruf posted 58 off first 40 balls. Maruf getting run out for 16, Sangakkara put another 29-runs stand with Nasir Hossain (19) to bring up his second fifty of the season.

Sangakkara was bowled out by Benny Howell for 59 from 41 with 8 fours. Later, combined efforts from Shakib (11), Prasanna (14) and Mosaddek (20) lifted the team total to 158.
