Police cordoned off militant hideout in Jessore

MNA National Desk: Police cordoned off a house in Ghop Central Road area of Jessore on Sunday night suspecting it a militant hideout.

Police said tipped off that the militants are staying in the house, a team of police cordoned off a house in the area around 10:00pm on Sunday.

The building’s owner is Jessore District School Assistant Teacher Haider Ali, who lives with his family in the school’s staff quarter. The flats in the building are available for rent.

Ali says he rented a flat on the west side of the second storey to a man named Mashiur Rahman about a year ago.

Once the team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) reached the spot from Dhaka, the anti-terrorism operation will begin, police added.
