ICT finalized probe report on Pakistani ex-captain’s war crimes

MNA National Desk: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) finalized its investigation report on war crimes accused retired Pakistani army captain Mohammad Shahidullah.

“We have found his involvement in crimes like murder, confinement, torture and looting,” Mohammad Abdul Hannan, coordinator of the agency told media at a press briefing.

“He was posted in West Pakistan and on leave at his home when the war broke out. Shahidullah reported to duty at Dhaka cantonment for the occupation army. Later he was sent to Comilla cantonment. He had set up a camp in his area Daudkandi along with his men and carried out monstrous crimes in the locality,” Hannan added.

However, the probe report will be submitted to the tribunal prosecutor on Tuesday. The ICT, during its investigation that continued from 11 October 2015 to 20 March 2017, have brought three charges against the accused after recording testimonies of 19 witnesses alongside three more seizure list witnesses.
