900 additional buses during Eid: Obaidul Quader

MNA National Desk: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Wednesday said Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will deploy 900 additional buses countrywide to ensure journey of the traveller during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.

Speaking at a programme of the BRTC, Quader said that out of the 900 ‘special bus services’, 466 will travel between districts and Upazilas.

Besides, the sales of advance BRTC bus tickets will begin seven days before the Eid and the special bus services will begin on June 22 and continue till three days after the greatest festival of Muslims, he added.

He came down hard on the state-owned entity saying BRTC has a ‘very bad reputation.’
