Missing Sarishabari mayor found in Sreemangal

MNA Exclusive Desk: Sarishabari mayor Rukunuzzaman was found in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar, on Wednesday, according to the police.

The mayor’s hands and legs were tied when he was rescued, Moulvibazar police superintendent Md Shahjalal confirmed to media.

A microbus dropped him off at the local Katiatala tea gardens, the mayor told the media at Police Station. He could not say much more.

Rukunuzzaman was missing after he had left his house in Uttara sector 13, Dhaka, around 9:30am on Monday. His mobile phone was switched off since then. His elder brother Md Saiful Islam Tukon filed a general diary over the incident that very night.

Rukunuzzaman is also the Sarishbari Municipality Awami League vice president.
