Eid-e-Miladunnabi observed across the country

MNA Feature Desk: The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), was observed in the country and elsewhere today with due reverence and religious fervor.

On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave separate messages greeting the countrymen and Muslims across the globe coinciding with the occasion and seeking eternal blessing for the people’s welfare alongside peace and harmony in the country and elsewhere in the world.

Besides, leader of the opposition in parliament Begum Raushan Ershad and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in separate messages also greeted the countrymen on the occasion.

Mahafil-e-Milad and ceremonies were organized by religious, social and academic organizations and processions were taken out in cities, towns and villages.

The day dawned with special prayers for the unity of Muslim Ummah and progress and prosperity of the country.
